My first post…

Hi, everyone!  Wow–this is it.  My first post at Danger Women Writing.  :-) It is a pleasure to be a part of this diverse group of writers.  I’m happy to be hanging out in the Danger Zone! (Yes, sorry, had to say that…I am such a Top Gun fan.)

In case you don’t know me, I’m Cynthia Eden.  I write sexy paranormal romances (with suspense) for Kensington Brava, and I also write dark romantic suspense novels for Grand Central Publishing. I’m actually in the middle of doing revisions for my first Grand Central book, DEADLY LIES.  And, a few days ago, I finished the rough draft for the next book in my Night Watch series for Kensington (the Night Watch books are my paranormal bounty hunter books).  So, um, October has been busy for me so far.

And I LOVE October.  I adore paranormals, so, of course, it stands to reason that I love Halloween.  What a great holiday. The perfect night to dress up and pretend to be someone else…just for a little while.

What are your plans for Halloween? Taking the little ones trick or treating? Heading to a party?  Let me know…and I’ll pick one commenter to win her/his choice of any Cynthia Eden title.

Thanks!

Hi, Cynthia!! I love Halloween. We have a great neighborhood, everyone really gets into around here, decorating and pretty much a neighborhood party. I always make a huge thing of Chilie, and neighbors and kids stop in all night…we bop from house to house, lol. Oh, and one of my neighbors makes this great mulled cider…I can’t wait!!
I always make HUGE goodie bags, lol, with lots of scary goodies. I love to see the kids when they pull out gummie eye balls or fingers, lol….

I take my daughter and niece and nephew trick or treating. My daughter like for me to dress up, so I do. After the kids get done we go to my moms and sort out the candy. then we leave for home and my daughter gets a few pieces. then when she goes to bed my husband and I watch scary movies on either tv or ones that we rent

We are having a Halloween party/Birthday party. My husbands burthday is the 25th. This will be the first one I have attended, being the first year we have been married. It is also the first one for them in a few years. Him, his sister, brother-in-law and mom always got together at his house and threw a big party for all their firends. Since we have been traveling on the road for the past couple of years this will be the first he has been home for in a while. So we are soooo looking forward to it.

I’ll be enjoying all the little trick or treaters that come to the door. Some of the little ones are so cute. I try to hand out non-candy treats, like goldfish, pretzels, animal crackers, etc. I’m not sure if the kids like them, but I feel better not handing out all that candy and having it in the house to tempt me.

We are going a trip so we won’t be around for Halloween this year. Usually we will sit around watching movies and having fun.

    Hi Cynthia,

My sister’s birthday is the 30th and we are getting together on Halloween for a girl’s night out. Dinner for sure, and probably a movie, but not a scary one, we are both weenies when it comes to bloody scary stuff.

Most people here in Finland don’t celebrate Halloween, although it’s obvious that at least the shop keepers wish that everyone would, considering all the Halloween stuff they have started to sell during the past 5 years or so.

My middle son has a soccer game about 2 hours away on Halloween at 3 in the afternoon. Even though my kids are 12, 16 and 20, the two youngest still like to walk around with us and visit with all the other people in our neighborhood. I hope we get back in time for some fun. We always leave a bucket of candy on the porch if we’re not at home. Sometimes it is all gone and sometimes there’s some chocolate left for me!
