Books that become movies or television shows

I love movies, television shows, and books! I think it’s so cool that Sookie has been so successful on television. I love Sookie! I hear Mary Janice Davidson’s series is becoming a television show in Germany. Very cool! What books do you think would make a great television show or movie? And who would star? I could see Sandra Bullock as Stephanie Plum! What about you?

Tell us what you think! We’ll be drawing for 3 copies of  AWAKENING THE BEAST on Wednesday from all comments!

Dangerous Highlander is my idea of a great movie and I can see Mel Gibson starring in it. I see Mel as the cover model even now and I know he isn’t..least I don’t think so. I like to see movies like that start up and not so many crazy no sense movies. Can you tell I am a romantic at heart. I confess to it. ha ha susan L.

I agree that the In Death series by J.D. Robb would be a great series. I’m not sure who would play Eve or Roarke, but I think a fresh face would be nice for each of them. I wouldn’t want to be connecting the actor and actress with any other role than Eve and Roarke – it sometimes distracts me from enjoying the adaptation.

Another one I’d love to see is Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series. Again, less known or new faces would be my choice for the cast so that I could associate them with the characters from the book without being distracted by past roles.

I think Ransom by Julie Garwood…Oh my gosh, the best movie!! Getting married on a horse, the action sequences, the romance, hot highlanders….Absolutely Gorg!! No idea who could play the characters though, but I am partial to Vin Diesel ;-)

I have to agree I think the J.D.Robb books would be great for TV or movies. Also agree that Diana Palmer’s Long Tall Texans would be a great series. Vicki Lewis Thompson’s Hexed books would be good too. Don’t have any ideas for the parts in these but I agree they should be unknown or less known people.

i would love to see the Black Dagger Brotherhood series as a movie . As far as the actors and actresses i would like no names. there are many well known that would be great, but i agree i would ba stuck on past performances. it needs to be someone who can really be the part.

okay that is a hard question. Wouldn’t mind seeing Sherilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter or even J.R. Ward’s Brotherhood on tv. That would be cool. I also think Lora Leigh’s Breeds series would be good.

There are some books that I would LOVE to see turned into television series, or mini-series. I have laughed my fanny off at the antics of the Bombay Family – books written by Leslie Langtry (Scuse Me While I Kill this Guy, Stand By Your Hitman, I Shot You Babe).
    And, I LOVE Sookie!

Don’t put me in for this book since I’m subscribed to the Nocturnes! But wanted to recommend OUTSIDER which is a historical by Penelope Williamson that was made into a movie on Showtime. They did so great with matching up the movie with the book. I don’t watch much movies and ended up getting this on DVD, it was that good!
